Ally McCoist reacts to Pochettino news at Tottenham amid Levy twist – ‘Insane’
Ally McCoist is amazed by the prospect of Mauricio Pochettino returning to Tottenham as Ange Postecoglou's replacement.
Postecoglou is under increasing pressure at Tottenham after they suffered their 15th Premier League defeat of the season against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday, 16 March.
Spurs are almost certain to miss out on European qualification in the league as they sit 14th in the table with only nine games left to play.
Therefore, there are shouts for Postecoglou to be relieved of his duties, with multiple managers already emerging as candidates to replace him.
McCoist backs Pochettino to return to Tottenham
Pochettino is among those who have been linked with the manager job at Tottenham, with the United States head coach admitting that he is in regular contact with Daniel Levy.
A picture of the Argentinian tactician sitting alongside the Spurs chairman has since gone viral on social media, sparking further talk of a return to North London.
Reacting to the possibility of Pochettino returning to Tottenham, McCoist recalled how he led them to an "insane" 3-2 victory over Ajax in Amsterdam after going 1-0 down in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final in 2019.

The talksSPORT pundit went on to tip the 53-year-old to return to Spurs, but admitted that it is unlikely to be in the immediate future.
"Who can forget the game at Ajax in Amsterdam? Wow! Insane is the word to use", McCoist said on talkSPORT (19 March, 6:26 am).
"I agree with Gabby [Agbonlahor], I could see that happening, not so sure it would be in the immediate future, but definitely one I'd not be ruling out long term.
"I like him, I think he's very good. He's a good coach, a good manager, and I don't think it would be the worst move."
Postecoglou to remain in charge of Spurs
It is worth noting that Pochettino is contracted to the US men's national team, having only taken charge of them in September.
Meanwhile, there is no evidence that Levy intends to pull the plug on Postecoglou immediately, with the former Celtic manager still in charge of the North London outfit.
As for McCoist, he has continued to defend Postecoglou despite backing Pochettino to return as Spurs' manager in the future.
It, therefore, remains to be seen if the 57-year-old can still turn things around in the Premier League.
