John Wenham believes Wilson Odobert's recent injury setback could open a door for Mikey Moore at Tottenham.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has described Odobert's recent injury update as "frustrating" for the Frenchman.

According to reliable Spurs insider Paul O Keefe via X (1 October), the winger could be out for another six weeks after injuring his hamstring.

However, Wenham - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - claims a positive could come out of this situation.

“Odobert would have been looking at those Europa League games as a real opportunity,” Wenham said.

“Therefore, while it is frustrating for him, it does open up the door for Moore. As a result, in a couple of years, we might be thinking this all worked out for the best.

“There are positives and negatives with all injuries. It can always open doors and create pathways.”

Mikey Moore to shine at Tottenham amid injury to Wilson Odobert

Nobody ever wishes an injury on a player, especially not their own. Therefore, this setback for Odobert is a big blow to Ange Postecoglou.

However, for Moore, it could present a golden opportunity. Odobert likely would have been ahead of the 17-year-old in the pecking order.

As a result, now that he is sidelined, Moore is likely to be handed increased opportunities with the first team.
