Mikey Moore will be feeling optimistic about his chances of making the matchday squad for Tottenham against Chelsea.

Spurs will travel to Stamford Bridge on Thursday (2 May) where they will be looking to bounce back from defeat in the North London derby.

Ange Postecoglou has been dealt a double injury blow ahead of the Premier League clash, with Ben Davies and Timo Werner both ruled out for the remainder of the season (Tottenham Hotspur Official Website, 1 May).

As a result, two spots will need to be filled in the squad on Thursday night, and 16-year-old Moore is well-positioned to take one of those places.

Mikey Moore could become a superstar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

It has been an incredible few weeks for Spurs' Under-18 superstar.

As per Football London (26 April), the forward had spent a fortnight training with the first-team ahead of the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (28 April).

In his pre-match press conference leading into the clash with the Gunners, Postecoglou was full of praise for the youngster, saying (via Football London, 26 April), "Mikey has been really good. Look he's a very talented boy and for him, he's had a fairly disrupted season, he's had a couple of injuries.

"When he's performed, he's performed really well. The reports I've had on him have always been outstanding. It's been good to have him."

And Moore has been pictured continuing to train with the Tottenham first-team ahead of the clash with Chelsea (Tottenham Hotspur Official Website, 1 May).

With Werner unavailable to face his former club, there is a very good chance Moore could be handed the German's place in the matchday squad.
