Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven could miss the next few games with a hamstring injury despite returning to training, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that he's had recurring issues with his hamstring and that's why the club would want to be extra careful with his rehab.

It's understood that the Dutch centre-back may even have suffered a potential Grade 3 hamstring tear.

Discussing the state of play with van de Ven exclusively with Tottenham NewsDr Brara doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.

"He’s a player with a history of hamstring injuries and who relies on his high pace," he said.

"So this could be a situation where they are being very methodical with his rehab despite his return to training so he can handle those demands and not suffer reinjury.

"This is why Spurs are not rushing him back and he could be missing the next few games as a result."

Micky van de Ven's absence is a huge blow for Tottenham

The 23-year-old is an exceptional defender and makes this Spurs side better whenever he's in it.

This season, he has played eight Premier League games and when fit, has been among Ange Postecoglou's first names on the team sheet.
