Glenn Hoddle spotted a "serious" new Tottenham injury as Radu Dragusin went off in the 3-0 win over Elfsborg on Thursday.

Spurs beat Elfsborg comfortably on 30 January to progress automatically to the Europa League round of 16 but they suffered yet another injury concern.

The Romanian defender was replaced by Dane Scarlett in the 66th minute of the clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, after coming on at the break.

Speaking on TNT Sports (30 January, 21:23 pm), he said: "That looks quite serious because look he has played the ball there.

"It's gone then he's landed and wow, then he holds his knee."

Tottenham injury crisis worsens

If it is a serious injury for Dragusin then it will be a crushing blow for Ange Postecoglou ahead of some crucial fixtures.

The EFL Cup semi-final second-leg against Liverpool on 6 February could be pivotal for the Australian's hopes of keeping his job.

However, he could be without the Romanian, Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario, Djed Spence, and Destiny Udogie for that clash as well as star forward Dominic Solanke although Micky van de Ven has returned.

If Postecoglou can make it through to the final of that competition and arrest a run of just one win from their last 11 Premier League matches, he should be able to hold on to his role in the dugout.

If Spurs do not sign a defender in the remaining days of the winter transfer window, then it will be a huge ask for the former Celtic man to turn things around.

If they lose that EFL Cup clash, it could be curtains for Postecoglou in North London.
