Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to launch a bid for a highly-rated Bundesliga star as attention turns to the summer transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou's side have had a season to forget on and off the pitch, with Spurs well out of the running in the two remaining domestic competitions amid a backdrop of protests against Daniel Levy.

Tottenham exited both the EFL Cup and FA Cup within days of one another last month and only have the Europa League left to play for this season; sitting 14th in the Premier League table with 15 defeats.

A two-legged quarter-final with Eintracht Frankfurt lies on the horizon for Tottenham, and as they gear up for a busy and crucial transfer window, Spurs already have their eyes on another Bundesliga club.

Tottenham to pursue Enzo Millot transfer after exit clause news

Postecoglou has been hit hard by injuries throughout the spine of his team for much of this season, leaving Spurs in desperate need of reinforcements in a variety of positions come the summer window.

According to German outlet Bild (19 March), Spurs are looking to address their central midfield problems by joining the race for 22-year-old star Enzo Millot, who is open to leaving Stuttgart this summer.

Millot's contract with Die Schwaben runs until 2028 but includes a release clause of roughly £16.7million, while the French under-21s international has even said that a departure is; "a goal I've set for myself."

Tottenham's arch-rivals Arsenal are also keen on the former Monaco man, while Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr have also "regularly" been sending a scout to watch Millot at recent Stuttgart home games.

Enzo Millot move a no-brainer for Tottenham

Tottenham are expected to make wholesale changes in the transfer window this summer, with Jamie O'Hara recently suggesting that as many as 11 first-team regulars could leave at the end of the season.

The futures of Pape Matar Sarr, Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur have all come under scrutiny amid Spurs' inconsistent form this term, but all three departing would leave a hole in the engine room.

Millot, however, as a player younger than both Bissouma and Bentancur, could be a player Spurs sign with the long-term in mind, complementing the likes of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall in midfield.

It'll take persuasion to convince Millot to choose them over Arsenal given their respective seasons, and overcoming the financial might of Saudi Arabia, but Spurs will see Millot as a player within their reach.
