Tottenham set for ‘huge financial boost’ after brand-new announcement
Daniel Levy has secured another lucrative deal to boost Tottenham’s summer transfer budget.
Spurs’ long season finally came to a close with their 4-1 Premier League defeat against Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (25 May), with the Lilywhites now gearing up for a busy summer.
Levy will be in the spotlight as he looks set to make a final decision on Ange Postecoglou’s future before setting his sights on improving the squad, which finished just one spot above the relegation zone.
The chairman has received plenty of criticism for his footballing decisions over the years, yet he has regularly showcased his financial nous, with the latest deal further highlighting his credentials.

Tottenham confirm they will take on Newcastle in South Korea
Spurs’ relations with South Korea have steadily grown as they have capitalised on captain Son Heung-min’s legendary status.
The Lilywhites travelled to East Asia for last season’s pre-season tour, and officially announced via X on Tuesday (26 May) that they will return to South Korea this year to face Newcastle United as part of the 2025 CoupnagPlay Series.
Team | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Tottenham | 454 | 173 | 101 |
South Korea | 133 | 51 | 23 |
Details on the date, venue and tickets for the match are yet to be confirmed.
However, wherever and whenever the match is played, it is bound to be a full house as fans from South Korea will be particularly keen to celebrate their country’s skipper after he lifted Spurs’ first European trophy in 41 years.
It was reported by the Daily Mail on 4 April that Spurs were in discussions over a friendly with Newcastle in Seoul at the World Cup Stadium, with a capacity crowd of 60,000 expected to attend if the game, which has now been confirmed, went ahead.
After the initial reports surfaced, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham suggested exclusively to Tottenham News (7 April) that this fixture would generate a huge financial boost for both Tottenham and Newcastle.
As well as their meeting with the Magpies, Spurs’ other confirmed pre-season fixtures include a reunion with Harry Kane as the North London side take on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena as part of the Telekom Cup (7 August), as well as a lucrative meeting with Arsenal in Hong Kong (31 July), in what will be the first North London derby on foreign soil.
Levy prepares for pivotal transfer window
Levy will hope the high-profile pre-season games not only achieve his goal of pushing Tottenham’s brand, but will also serve to add to their budget ahead of a huge season.
An influx of players is expected to tackle the added demands of UEFA Champions League football, with Postecoglou calling for more experience in his final press conference of the season, which often comes at a higher cost.
The young squad proved inadequately equipped to sustainably challenge on multiple fronts and will need to bulk up to avoid disappointing in the league again next season.
