Tyler Dibling is a long-term target for Tottenham as Southampton transfer news emerges.

Ange Postecoglou's side have struggled this season, which could lead to the Australian being sacked by Daniel Levy.

However, in a campaign where the senior players have failed to perform, plenty of Spurs' young stars have made a big impression in North London.

Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall in particular, have stood out, while Mikey Moore has also established himself as a first-team player at the age of 17.

Therefore, it is no surprise that Tottenham want to sign one of the Premier League's most exciting young players, Dibling.

Tottenham make £35million bid for Tyler Dibling

Spurs are clearly keen to sign as many talented youngsters as possible, with news of a "crazy" bid for Sunderland's Chris Rigg emerging recently.

That explains the North London club's interest in Dibling, who has been linked with a move to Spurs for quite some time now.

However, despite the high likelihood of the Saints being relegated from the Premier League, the South Coast club still plan to demand £100million for Dibling.

Therefore, a move for the 19-year-old could prove difficult, with Spurs previously failing to sign the midfielder.

As reported by BBC Sport (31 March), Southampton turned down a bid of £35m for Dibling from Tottenham in the winter transfer window, as well as £30m from RB Leipzig, valuing the youngster at £55million when the window first opened.

Tottenham could struggle to sign Dibling

If Southampton are prepared to hold out for £100m, Spurs could struggle to sign Dibling.

There is some optimism that Tottenham could agree a cut-price deal. However, even if a fee can be agreed with Southampton, the club would still need to convince the player to make the move to North London, which could prove tricky amid all the uncertainty at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
