Tottenham face complication to sign Samu Omorodion after £40m+ transfer news
Tottenham could make some big squad changes this summer, and Samu Omorodion has emerged as a target, although a deal might be difficult to do.
Ange Postecoglou currently has Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as his main striking options.
Both players are currently injured, which means Mathys Tel, who joined the club on loan from Bayern Munich in the winter transfer window, has been playing through the middle.
However, once Solanke returns he will no doubt be the first choice striker, and it doesn't look like he will be leaving the club anytime soon.
On the other hand, Richarlison's long-term Tottenham future remains up in the air, but if the North London club want to replace the Brazilian with Omorodion, they have their work cut out for them.
Omorodion ownership issues could cause problems for Tottenham
As reported by CaughtOffside (27 February), Tottenham are one of several top European clubs considering a move for Porto striker Omorodion.
The 20-year-old is valued at around £41.2million [CaughtOffside]. However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - has shed some light on Omorodion's ownership situation, which would make a deal difficult to do.
“I like him, I think he is a good player,” Wenham said.
“However, he has some strange ownership issues. If I remember correctly, Porto only owns a percentage of his rights, while Atletico Madrid and third-party owners also have some involvement.

“We’ve seen how much Tottenham have struggled to get deals across the line in the past. As a result, I’d imagine this would be quite a complicated deal to do. However, he has impressed with his form at Porto.
“Chelsea will hugely regret missing out on him, and I’m sure they will be back in for him as well.”
Tottenham should do what they can to sign Omorodion
Even if there are complications involved, that shouldn't stop a club of Spurs' financial stature from signing a player.
Therefore, fans shouldn't accept excuses, and Levy should be doing what it takes to bring Omorodion to North London, especially if Richarlison leaves the club.
This is a 20-year-old striker who is already displaying immense potential. Therefore, if Spurs let the Spaniard go elsewhere, they could live to regret it.
