Tottenham are reportedly keen on securing the services of Southampton midfielder Tyler Dibling.

After a disastrous 2024-25 campaign, Spurs do not want another season outside the European places are ready to spend in order to strengthen the first team.

They are currently in 16th place after getting just 37 points from 33 games.

Newcastle do not seem as determined to sign Dibling

TEAMtalk claimed on 22 April that while the Magpies do hold an interest in the 19-year-old, they are not as determined to sign him as they were earlier.

They've also reported that Spurs can secure his services for less than half of his initial asking price.

This could be in part because the Saints have been relegated to the Championship and no longer have the same kind of leverage in discussions.

Initially, they wanted £100million for the teenager, but he could now be available for a £45million fee with some add-ons.

Southampton, though, are keen on retaining the services of the English midfielder.

Tottenham could do with a player like Dibling among their ranks

Dibling could inject flair and versatility into Tottenham’s midfield.

Known for his audacious dribbling, exceptional ball progression and ability to evade pressure, the teenager excels as an attacking midfielder or winger.

His vision, composure and physicality suit a high-pressing, dynamic system.

While Ange Postecoglou may not be the manager next season, Spurs are expected to hire someone who plays a similar brand of football.

Diblign is capable of playing centrally or wide and he’d compete with James Maddison while offering long-term upside.

His England Under-21 debut and interest from elite clubs signal his potential to become a Tottenham cornerstone, enhancing their midfield creativity and depth.
