Tottenham could be set for a major boost as potential investment from Amanda Staveley could lead to an influx of big-money signings.

Current owners Daniel Levy and the ENIC group have been heavily criticised for holding the club back through their financial restraint with Spurs having the lowest squad cost in the Premier League [TBR Football].

However, with interest coming from Staveley and investors in the USA and the Middle East, the club could soon have a war chest to allow Ange Postecoglou to bolster his squad.

Exciting times on the cards at Tottenham?

That report states that the current ownership group have spent a total of £194million on the club, £94m on the initial takeover and £100m in funding since 2001.

In that time, according to the report, the club's value has grown exponentially with the move to their new £1billion stadium however there is a £850m debt as a result but fixed-rate agreements have been made with external lenders rather than burdening the club with shareholder loans.

News of potential investment from Staveley or another party will be music to the ears of the Spurs supporters after years of frugality from Levy and co.

It may lead to the club being more aggressive in the transfer market releasing the shackles off of Postecoglou and allowing him to build a team that can compete for the highest honours.

It is an exciting time to be a Spurs fan, with the fantastic new stadium and potential new investment on the cards that could finally lead to the club winning a first major trophy since 2008.
