Spurs missed an opportunity to sign Club Brugge forward Antonio Nusa when he was still playing in Norway, Tottenham News has been told.

Tottenham News previously revealed (18 January) that Spurs are keen on bringing the 18-year-old Norway international to the Premier League this month.

Nusa is thought to be valued at around £25million by his current club (Evening Standard, 19 January), with Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reporting via his official X (19 January) that Spurs are "pushing" to get a deal done.

Nusa has caught the eye of many across Europe this season with his strong displays.

The left winger has scored twice and provided two assists in 14 Jupiler Pro League appearances across the current campaign, while he has already played four times for the Norwegian national team, grabbing a goal and an assist on his debut in a 6-0 win against Jordan (27 September).

He already has experience of European football, scoring in the UEFA Conference League Group Stage earlier this season.

A recruitment source with close links to the Scandinavian market has revealed to Tottenham News that the North London side had the opportunity to sign Nusa while he was still with Stabaek in Norway before he made the switch to Belgium.

Spurs failed to act quickly, missed the opportunity and will now be forced to pay, what an industry source is describing as a fee which is "over the odds."
