After the transfer window shut, Levy called time on his Tottenham reign, and his departure has dominated the headlines.
Now, a player that the 63-year-old sold for £12million has described exactly when the former executive chairman knew his time was up.

Tottenham have already terminated Daniel Levy's appointment from Companies House, highlighting that they are in a rush to move on.
This summer, the Lilywhites went through an eventful transfer window, missing out on several key targets.
However, the North London club were still able to sign some well-renowned names in Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, and Randal Kolo Muani.

While Levy's exit came as a shock for some, it appears that the signs were there earlier in the summer.
Indeed, speaking on X on 5 September, as shared by Lilywhite Rose, Townsend gave his verdict on when that was.
"Reading between the lines, I think this was on the cards for a while," he said.
"In hindsight, I look back to the interview he did with Gary Neville, which is so un-Daniel Levy-like to do an interview like that.
"And maybe it was his last chance to get the fans onside to show his human side, and to show whoever's in charge that he can still lead Spurs."

Looking back, everything now makes sense.
When Levy gave his interview with Neville, Townsend is right in that it was out of character for the 63-year-old.
During the conversation, he spoke about his legacy, sustainability, and even commented on other clubs' spending.
Although Levy has never been afraid to speak his mind, doing such an interview was certainly a sign.
In a rather fitting end to his Spurs reign, he departed the North London club after the transfer window closed.
Now, only time will tell whether he will be remembered fondly at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
