Tottenham's latest contract announcement has elicited a reaction from the Professional Footballers' Association.

Uncertainty continues to surround Tottenham as question marks remain over whether Ange Postecoglou will still be in charge beyond the summer, resulting in little activity in the transfer market.

The uncertainty has spread to players within the squad, with Cristian Romero among others seeking clarity over the decision before making their next steps.

The Lilywhites have nonetheless made some inroads by signing fan-favourite Kevin Danso permanently, while their latest contract announcement has caught the eye of the PFA.

PFA reacts as Reiss Elliott-Parris signs professional Tottenham deal

There have been plenty of signings made across the Premier League that will only add to Tottenham fans' frustrations, with prospective players like Angel Gomes seemingly slipping away from the Lilywhites.

However, one area Spurs have not dawdled on in the off-season is the academy, with a handful of youngsters such as Harry Byrne signing new contracts at Hotspur Way.

Another player to put pen to paper is Elliott-Parris, with Tottenham confirming on Wednesday (4 June) that the young forward had agreed his first professional deal in North London.

Elliott-Parris shared a photo of his contract signing via his personal Instagram (4 June), with the PFA liking the post.

It is just reward for the young prospect, who has imposed himself on the Under-18 squad at centre forward while also contributing to the Under-17s' Premier League Cup victory this season.

Spurs youth starting to show promise

Since Harry Kane, Tottenham have struggled to produce many top players.

Only a handful have broken through to the first team, and all of them have since departed to clubs battling for Premier League survival, with managers bemoaning the lack of talent emerging from the youth teams.

However, the tide is changing, and while Mikey Moore's emergence is the standout example, plenty of other prospects such as Damola Ajayi, Callum Olusesi, and Luca Williams-Barnett are starting to knock on the first-team door.
