Joe Lewis waits to strike with new Tottenham cash injection as Lord Alan Sugar reveals all
Tottenham are in real trouble under Thomas Frank and their current squad requires a lot of investment.
Frank is now even closer to the sack after Spurs were beaten 2-1 by West Ham United on Saturday afternoon, leaving the North London side 14th in the Premier League.
Callum Wilson’s last-minute winner condemned the Lilywhites to a third successive defeat and their eighth loss in their past 14 games.
Former Tottenham chairman Alan Sugar believes that Joe Lewis must act now to turn the desperate situation around.
Joe Lewis urged to invest in Tottenham squad
Tottenham signed Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid, officially confirming their first addition of the January transfer window last Wednesday.
The midfielder played the full 90 minutes against West Ham but couldn’t help his side avoid yet another defeat.
Frank is also set to bring in Souza from Santos, after the left-back was spotted watching his new teammates at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, Spurs need more than just these two signings if they want to get back to the higher end of the Premier League.
Following the loss against West Ham, Sugar took to social media, urging the Tottenham ownership to spend some money, something he believes is waiting in the pipeline.
He said: “Spurs – West Ham, another poor result today. I know Joe Lewis is just waiting to strike with an injection of cash to build a winning team. The time is right now in the transfer window.”

Who else are Tottenham targeting?
After Souza is officially announced, Tottenham will turn their attention to strengthening in attack.
Frank wants to bring in another left winger, whether that be in the January transfer window or in the summer, should he last that long.
Spurs have had real issues going forward in recent months, missing the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison.
However, it remains to be seen whether Frank will still be in a job by the time a new attacker comes in, given the increasing calls for his dismissal.
Lewis’s injection of this money into Tottenham would be the perfect time for it, but whether it should come with a new manager as well is something that remains to be seen.
