Luana Buhler has agreed a contract extension with Tottenham Women ahead of next season.

Spurs had a season to forget after finishing 11th in the Barclays Women's Super League.

As a result of the Lilywhites' disappointing form, Robert Vilahamn was replaced by Martin Ho.

And it seems that the rebuild in North London is set to continue with Buhler expected to be a big part of that.

Buhler signs new Tottenham contract until 2026

Tottenham announced on Thursday (24 July) that they have exercised the option to extend Buhler's contract until 2026.

The defender has made 30 appearances in all competitions since joining from Hoffenheim in the summer of 2023.

However, injuries have not been kind to her in recent months. Buhler recently underwent surgery for a knee issue that kept her from competing for Switzerland in the European Championships in her nation this summer.

But she is expected to complete an intensive rehabilitation plan upon her return, where she will hope to once again compete at her best.

Tottenham must continue to invest to compete

Levy must continue to invest in his women's team if he wants them to compete for all trophies in the coming years.

The Tottenham Chairman has already begun to show positive signs. It has been widely reported that City Hall has approved the construction of a new training ground in Whitewebbs Park in Enfield.

This will not only see an improvement to the women's team's facilities but also comes with public benefits, ranging from better transport links to more female engagement in sport.

Furthermore, it seems that Ho will have a big job when it comes to picking his match-day squad. Several Spurs players have had notable performances during the Euros, which could be an indicator of what is to come next season.

While this is a good problem to have, the new Spurs coach must make use of all the talent at his disposal. Therefore, with a few more tweaks this summer, Levy can expect an improved WSL campaign.
