Ange Postecoglou can ‘save Tottenham job’ with £10m-plus windfall for Levy within hours
Daniel Levy could be convinced to keep hold of Ange Postecoglou as the Tottenham manager now has a chance to secure a £10.5million windfall.
Postecoglou ended Spurs’ 17-year trophy drought after a 1-0 victory against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final at the Estadio de San Mamés on Wednesday (21 May).
Despite this, the high of a Europa League win may not be enough to satisfy Daniel Levy, as the Lilywhites could still finish 17th in the Premier League, which would be the North London club’s lowest ever finish in the competition.
However, Postecoglou has the opportunity to convince Levy to stick by him and put Tottenham in a better position for the new season after a major financial reveal.

Tottenham could earn £10.5m with win against Brighton
Postecoglou’s side will host Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in their final Premier League game of the season on Sunday (25 May), and while some supporters might feel as though the game is meaningless, the fixture could represent more than what meets the eye.
Tottenham will have their work cut out for them as Brighton have tasted defeat in just one of their last five Premier League games, compared to Spurs, who have lost all but one.
However, if Postecoglou and his players do get over the line on Sunday, it could prove to be very lucrative for Tottenham.
Premier League | Position | Points |
Brighton | 8th | 58 |
Tottenham | 17th | 38 |
According to football finance expert Kieran Maguire (25 May), Tottenham could walk away £10.5m richer if they pick up three points against the Seagulls.
Victory could see Tottenham finish as high as 14th, provided results elsewhere go in their favour.
Each place in the Premier League is worth an extra £3.5million in prize money. Therefore, if Tottenham climb three places on Sunday, they will earn £10.5m.
Tottenham will need one last push against Brighton
With the Europa League trophy safely delivered to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs can focus on one last meaningful push against Brighton.
Levy could be convinced to stick by Postecoglou if the 59-year-old can deliver an extra £10.5m. Therefore, this game appears to be more meaningful than some might have originally thought.
