Tottenham urged to sack backroom staff members as ‘horrible’ Bergvall image circulates

Tottenham fans have been left fuming after Lucas Bergvall was spotted ahead of the Bodo/Glimt clash on Thursday.

The Lilywhites are playing host to the Norwegian outfit on 1 May with the hope of earning a place in the Europa League final.

Ange Postecoglou named his starting 11 in North London, featuring six changes with both Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma coming into midfield.

This came after an injury to Bergvall emerged in North London, with supporters venting their frustration after what they saw in N17.

Tottenham fans fume at Bergvall injury

There is no doubt that it was a blow to see the side named without the Sweden international as Spurs hunt for a positive home result.

This came after Postecoglou confirmed that the 19-year-old had suffered an ankle injury in training on Wednesday (30 April).

The Australian head coach didn’t seem to have many concerns, but after his pre-match interview, footage emerged of Bergvall in a protective boot.

This points towards a larger problem for the midfielder, which could potentially see him ruled out for a prolonged period in North London.

It is fair to say this news hasn’t gone down well with supporters, as one described the development as “horrible” ahead of the clash in N17.

This came while others suggested there’s “something wrong with the Tottenham physios”, echoed by another who said: “Sack the whole medical department.”

Bergvall latest name on Tottenham injury list

It appears that Postecoglou hasn’t learned from the mistakes of this season so far when it comes to frequent injury trouble.

This was showcased earlier in the year as both Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero missed substantial periods through separate issues.

The Netherlands international was rushed back and ultimately spent even longer on the sidelines as the backroom staff failed to do their job.

Now it appears that Bergvall has been failed and has suffered an injury which could prove to end his season in North London.

It will be interesting to see what that means for the likes of Bissouma and Pape Sarr between now and the end of the season, but there is no doubt that it’s a blow.
