Tottenham make ‘incredible’ announcement ahead of Europa League final

Tottenham supporters are even more excited for the UEFA Europa League final after a brand-new official announcement.

Thousands of Spurs supporters will make the trip to Bilbao in the hope that Ange Postecoglou and his players can end a miserable season on a high by beating Manchester United on Wednesday (21 May).

However, there will also be countless Spurs supporters watching on back in North London, roaring the Lilywhites on from home, a pub, or perhaps the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to screen the Europa League final

Spurs recently announced that they would host a screening of the Europa League final at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It was revealed that additional screens would not be placed on the pitch due to the Premier League fixture with Brighton taking place the following Sunday (25 May), a decision criticised by Spurs supporters.

However, Tottenham have now confirmed that extra screens will be placed on the pitch to further enhance the fan experience at the event, with supporters taking to social media to praise the decision.

Tottenham make the correct decision

The decision to add additional screens is common sense, and will make for a better experience for fans who are attending, who cannot make it to Bilbao.

Given that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is used to host concerts, NFL matches and boxing events, it is only right that the screens are added for the biggest game in Spurs’ recent history.

What is the point in having an expensive, top-of-the-range arena if its full capacities are not utilised when supporters need it most?

Fans have already protested constantly over Daniel Levy’s ownership, and the initial decision would have justified them to do so again, increasing the toxic atmosphere that has developed in recent months.

The final itself is crucial to Spurs; if they win, they secure UEFA Champions League football next season and, more importantly, end a trophy drought stretching back 17 years.

For those cheering Spurs on in the Spanish city, it could be a brilliant night, but there will surely be a great atmosphere back home too after the latest development.

Now, Postecoglou’s side just need to turn up on the night and blow the Red Devils away for everybody of a Tottenham persuasion to go home happy and potentially rid some of the animosity towards Levy.
