Tottenham fans simply not having it as date set for high-profile exit – ‘What a joke’

Tottenham are in the midst of a make-or-break January transfer window.

Thomas Frank is under major pressure, which only increased further after Tottenham’s 2-1 FA Cup loss to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Frank has been accused of creating ‘double standards’ within the Tottenham squad, as he now faces the grim reality of his team being out of the FA Cup whilst sitting 14th in the Premier League.

However, Spurs chiefs appear to be backing Frank for the time being, and it will be fascinating to see whether he is backed in the market or not given that Tottenham are yet to make any signings so far this month.

Tottenham fans not buying latest Fabio Paratici exit claim

Tottenham’s co-sporting director Fabio Paratici was expected to leave after Spurs’ clash with Sunderland on 4 January, with the expectation being he would be joining Italian outfit Fiorentina.

A report from David Ornstein on Sunday has now suggested that Paratici will leave Tottenham upon the conclusion of the current January transfer window, and will return to Italy to join Fiorentina for “personal reasons”.

However, judging from the social media responses from supporters, it’s safe to say that many Spurs fans aren’t buying that reported reasoning for his move.

“What a joke,” one Tottenham fan wrote, whilst another said: “Personal reasons being the club is ran like a circus and he’d rather join an 18th-placed side in Serie A.”

Paratici made some key Tottenham signings during Antonio Conte era

Tottenham’s recruitment has been very hit and miss in recent times, and that’s largely contributed to the downfall of numerous managers and an alarming decline in their Premier League position.

However, when Paratici first joined Spurs in the summer of 2021, the Italian helped make some excellent signings: ones that are still star players for the Lilywhites in 2026.

Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur and Cristian Romero were all signed in Paratici’s debut 2021-22 season with Tottenham; a season in which Antonio Conte was appointed to replace Nuno Espirito Santo.

Spurs finished fourth and qualified for the Champions League that year, finishing one place above Arsenal, and provided solid evidence that Paratici is a very valuable figure to have at your club.
