Djed Spence has provided a damning outlook on Tottenham squad after a horrible season so far.

It has been a season to forget for Spurs as they struggle on all fronts, with the Europa League currently their only option for winning silverware.

Tottenham sit 14th in the Premier League table at the moment, but they are level on points with Everton and West Ham below them, only ahead by goal difference.

The lack of consistency has placed a mounting level of pressure on Ange Postecoglou, with a certain section of fans calling for his sacking.

Postecoglou clashed with a Spurs fan following their latest defeat against Fulham, and the fact that it was loanee Mathys Tel calming the situation down left people questioning the more experienced members of the squad.

Tottenham are lacking leadership right now

A big question that Spurs fans have had is, who are the players ready to step up and lead the team moving forward to try and get them out of this difficult situation?

Spence recently appeared on Rio Presents, where he was asked about who the leaders are within the squad, a question that he struggled to answer.

It took the full back a while to eventually say club captain Heung-min Son and James Maddison, but the lack of immediacy was a telling sign.

His response was an example of silence speaking a thousand words, especially when coming from Spence, who has been one of the bright sparks in the team this season.

Spence has sent alarm bells ringing for Tottenham fans

The lack of an immediate response from Spence when asked about the leadership within Tottenham’s dressing room gave a damning insight into the inner workings of the squad.

Unfortunately for Tottenham fans, it wasn’t the type of outlook they wanted to see, as this was a worrying update about how the team operates.
