Tottenham fans angered by Richarlison transfer update – ‘Everton bound’
Richarlison has seriously struggled for form since joining Tottenham from Everton in 2022.
The Brazil international has scored just 18 goals for the Lilywhites and has seriously suffered with recurring injury issues.
Ange Postecoglou hasn’t managed to get the best out of the 27-year-old, who has made just two Premier League starts this campaign.
As a result, it is little surprise that Spurs supporters are growing in frustration with the versatile forward ahead of the summer transfer window.
Tottenham fans react to Richarlison exit update
It has been a largely poor season for the North Londoners, who find themselves sitting 14th in the Premier League with nine games to go.
Even with the introduction of record signing Dominic Solanke, the Lilywhites have struggled and could be set for a revamp in the summer.
To fund a rebuild under Postecoglou, the sale of Richarlison could be required to make the sort of changes the Australian needs.
It has now been reported by Goal Brazil (2 February) that the former Watford man’s future appears to lie away from N17.
Spurs are willing to listen to offers for the forward, who would prefer to remain in Europe as opposed to a move elsewhere.
This has prompted annoyance from supporters at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium who have suggested the Brazilian is “Everton bound”.
Richarlison could return to Everton
It is fair to say that it could make total sense for the 27-year-old to return to Goodison Park in the summer after a difficult stint in N17.
The forward thrived on Merseyside, netting over 50 goals after signing from Watford for what was seen as a sizable fee at the time.
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Tottenham | 80 | 18 | 8 |
Everton | 152 | 53 | 13 |
Watford | 41 | 5 | 5 |
Fluminese | 67 | 19 | 3 |
The Toffees got their money’s worth but Spurs certainly didn’t with the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and Wilson Odobert outperforming him this campaign.
It will certainly be interesting to see how much Everton would spend on the Brazilian and whether the Lilywhites would agree to sell him to a Premier League side.
