Postecoglou told to fine Tottenham ace after what he did v Liverpool – ‘Stupid’

Ange Postecoglou has been told to fine Tottenham ace Pedro Porro a week’s wages for his “stupid” moment in their 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg on Wednesday.

He was through on goal against Alisson and was given the ball straight to his feet and, despite having a half-open net in front of him, he skied it over the bar.

The right-back is one of the few defenders that the Australian has at his disposal following their major injury crisis but that didn’t stop fans from tearing him to shreds,

Spurs somehow managed to leave their home ground victorious on 8 January and it feels like fans don’t want to see the Spaniard anywhere near the starting line-up for the return leg.

Pedro Porro needed to do better for Tottenham

Although the rest of his teammates put on a fairly solid showing against the Reds, it feels like the former Sporting CP man let Tottenham down somewhat.

Fans described the defender’s poor moment against Arne Slot’s men as “embarrassing” with another saying that he was “absolutely useless”, which to be quite frank is a kind way to describe what he did.

As aforementioned, Tottenham are pretty light at the back due to injuries to players such as Micky van de Ven and Christian Romero being absent.

There have of course been times this season when Porro has proved his worth but after his ridiculously poor finish against the Merseyside outfit, it feels like the right-back has a lot of making up to do to his fans.

Unless Porro can manage to get over this poor performance and return back to 100 per cent, it feels like as soon as Postecoglou has the option to replace him, he will.
