Tottenham told to ‘sack Ange Postecoglou now’ after what he just did
Tottenham fell to yet another defeat with a 1-0 loss against Chelsea on Thursday which leaves them sitting 14th in the Premier League.
Enzo Fernandez scored what ended up being the only goal of the game in the 50th minute, with both sides then having goals disallowed at Stamford Bridge.
Tottenham substitution Pape Matar Sarr scored just five minutes after being brought on for Lucas Bergvall, although it was disallowed for a foul on Moises Caicedo.

Tottenham fans turn on Ange Postecoglou
There has been pressure on Ange Postecoglou throughout the season so far and as players have been returning from injury without results improving, excuses are running out for the boss.
The Lilywhites only have the Europa League left to play for this season, and as they prepare for a quarter-final against Eintracht Frankfurt, the Australians’ future could well be riding on it.
However, with form continuing to be dismal, there have been suggestions that Postecoglou’s dismissal is a matter of when, not if, and a trophy could be a moot point in the decision.
Team | Possession | Shots | Shots on target |
Chelsea | 50% | 9 | 5 |
Tottenham | 50% | 5 | 2 |
Notably, the away contingent were heard booing when Bergvall was taken off the pitch to be replaced by Sarr.
As the midfielder went on to score five minutes after his introduction, Postecoglou cupped his ear towards his own supporters who had questioned the decision, before the goal was ruled out.
The actions of the 59-year-old have rubbed supporters up the wrong way, and Daniel Levy has been told “sack him now” after branding their manager as “pathetic.”
Postecoglou nailing his own fate at Tottenham
Postecoglou is not the only person to blame for Tottenham’s failings this season, but his constant lack of accountability and defensive mentality has surely left Levy with an easy decision.
When supporters are onside, it’s easier to back a manager who is struggling to produce the expected levels.
However, it is clear that there is now a disconnect between Postecoglou and the supporters in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium which is only going to grow more.
It makes sense why the chairman may choose to wait for now, with some big games coming up and he certainly needs to look at what he can do to improve things in north London going forward.
However, it would be surprising if he wasn’t going to consider his next steps after another defeat for the Lilywhites.
