Tottenham fans want Postecoglou sacked after what he did for AZ clash – ‘Ange Out’
Ange Postecoglou is under severe pressure for success as Tottenham return to Europa League action.
The former Celtic manager was famously quoted as saying he always wins trophies in his second season but that looks unlikely at present.
Spurs travel to the AFAS Stadion for the Europa League round of 16 tie against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday looking to put a marker down on the rest of the competition.
It looks as though Postecoglou has got off to the worst possible start, though.

Postecoglou makes controversial Gray decision
Postecoglou has chosen to start Archie Gray at centre-back despite both Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero being on the bench.
Kevin Danso starts alongside the 17-year-old and the decision has proved controversial despite the duo only just returning to fitness.
Stats (Europa League) | Starts | Tackles won | Recoveries | Yellow cards |
Gray | 8 | 81.8% | 42 | 0 |
Gray has stepped up on several occasions this season in the absence of Spurs’ senior members of the backline, featuring in every single Europa League match.

Tottenham fans dismayed at Postecoglou selection
As the competition represents Spurs’ only chance of salvaging their season, emotions are running high and the Australian’s team selection has caused concern.
What exactly is he waiting for with VDV and Romero? A sign from God?! Get them on the pitch man!

Romero can’t even make himself available to start a knockout match despite a song & dance being made about his return to fitness.

If the Lilywhites fail to secure the required result in the Netherlands, it will put them under immense pressure to secure victory at home in the return leg.
Postecoglou could come to regret the decision to start Gray, the youngster has impressed, but surely Van de Ven or Romero would provide more security, even if they were hauled off after the first half, given that they have only just come back.
Given the importance of the contest, if it backfires then he could find himself on the verge of being sacked by Daniel Levy with no other route to ending the 17-year trophy drought.
However, if it pays off and his side brings a healthy advantage back to North London, it will justify the 59-year-old’s decision and make those supporters that have criticised him eat their words.
