Tottenham fans destroy ‘Daniel Levy PR’ as new ‘takeover leak’ emerges today

Tottenham supporters are growing restless with Daniel Levy as the Lilywhites continue to fall closer to danger in the Premier League.

Spurs fans are growing ever disgruntled at their owner, rather than pinning the blame on Ange Postecoglou, who is still facing the sack.

The Tottenham faithful have made their feelings known throughout the season so far and are set for another protest ahead of Sunday’s game against Manchester United.

Despite the negativity, new takeover rumours could soon bring joy.

Tottenham could be set for a takeover

According to The Guardian (12 February), Qatari investors are interested in taking over the North London outfit.

It is said that any bid could be done as a phase-out model which would allow Levy to be given a long-term contract to stay on as Executive Chairman.

The current Spurs chief has made no secret of his desire for fresh investment, suggesting he would certainly be open to this deal.

Tottenham supporters unconvinced by Daniel Levy plans

After news emerged in the media, many Tottenham supporters were left unconvinced and felt the news comes with an ulterior motive.

Many supporters have argued on X that the plans are not genuine and rather, a leak to try and appease fans that change may be coming in the hope of reducing the size of the protests set to take place.

Some fans have labelled this as “Levy PR” and have urged others not to fall for the distraction.

It’s easy to understand the cynical nature of many supporters as this is not the first time a takeover story has come out in the press at a similar time to a planned protest and, as pointed out, the timing does feel somewhat convenient.

Furthermore, even if this report is detailing a plan that is actually on the table, a phased buy-out would mean that Levy is set for more years at the club which many are entirely against.

The Spurs chief has suggested that outside investment is something he is interested in but given how little he has contributed to things like transfers over several seasons, supporters are well within their rights to feel as though this wouldn’t exactly cause massive change.

Whatever the motives may have been for this story to be released at the time that it was, it seems as though plenty of people are sceptical about where it’s come from and, if anything, have had their anger fuelled.

With this in mind, Levy may well have to prepare himself for backlash on Sunday amid highly supported protests from his own fanbase.
