Tottenham fans beg for Guglielmo Vicario after ‘shocking’ scenes v Liverpool
Tottenham were knocked out of the EFL Cup against Liverpool on Thursday evening.
Spurs fell to a 4-0 defeat at Anfield as the Merseysiders overturned a 1-0 deficit from the first leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Lilywhites goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky failed to impress in the contest and gave away a penalty when he brought down Darwin Nunez in the 51st minute.
He was constantly sloppy in possession and hit the ball out of play when under pressure several times in the contest which did not help Ange Postecoglou‘s side.
Spurs supporters beg for Guglielmo Vicario return
After the horror show from the Czech Republic international, Spurs supporters have slammed the idea of a debate over who is the number one when Guglielmo Vicario returns.
One supporter claimed that Kinsky’s “debut sold me dreams” and said that they “miss Vicario so much.”
Another commented that the 21-year-old’s performance against the Reds was “shocking.”

Kinsky has been solid for Tottenham
Since joining in a £12.5million deal on 5 January, the young goalkeeper has played seven matches, impressing in most of his appearances but on this occasion, he struggled under the lights at Anfield.
Kinsky has kept three clean sheets in his stint in between the sticks including the first-leg against the Reds which had Lilywhites fans questioning whether Vicario would get back into the starting line-up.
However, he constantly looked nervous and his poor distribution meant that Spurs could not build from the back against Arne Slot’s side, who smashed away their advantage from the first leg.
Vicario is not expected back until early March after he underwent surgery on an ankle injury suffered in the 4-0 win over Manchester City (23 November).
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, ex-spurs scout Bryan King had suggested that the club may have to have a conversation with him and tell him he would have to work hard to get back into the team.
There should be no debate when the Italian returns, the number one spot in North London is his for the foreseeable future.
Whether Postecoglou is still in the dugout by then remains to be seen, his side has had a major injury crisis but missing out on the final after they had an advantage may be the final straw for his tenure.
