Tottenham fans baffled as silence broken after Aston Villa defeat – ‘So twisted’
Tottenham fans have been left furious at how the club’s social media team broke the silence after being knocked out of the FA Cup by Aston Villa.
Spurs had been silent on all platforms after a damning 2-1 defeat to Unai Emery’s side saw Ange Postecoglou’s team crash out of their second domestic tournament in three days.
The Lilywhites, having already been thrashed by Liverpool in the EFL Cup semi-final, got off to the worst start, conceding after two minutes to Jacob Ramsey before Morgan Rogers doubled the lead.
Mathys Tel got his Spurs career off the ground, latching onto a smart cross from Dejan Kulusevski, but with just minutes remaining, it was too little too late at Villa Park.
Tottenham wish Happy Birthday to Bryan Gil
Supporters were already furious with Postecoglou, Daniel Levy, and their failings on and off the pitch, but it has gone from bad to worse on social media after the silence was broken with a birthday post for Bryan Gil [X].
The 24-year-old, who is currently on loan with Girona, has played just 43 times for Spurs since his move to North London in 2021, largely being frozen out by the manager.
Understandably, fans have been left baffled by the club’s first post since losing to Villa, almost pretending like the FA Cup exit never happened.

Ange Postecoglou pressure continues to pile up
With Spurs knocked out of the FA Cup and EFL Cup, and placed 14th in the Premier League table, Postecoglou is only relying on the Europa League title to save his job.
To be just four spots above the relegation zone is absolutely unacceptable for a club like the Lilywhites, even with an abundance of crushing injuries at Hotspur Way.
While there is still a chance of the Europa League title coming to North London, supporters are already too frustrated with the manager, and there is likely no way back for him now.
The major problem now for Levy is finding someone to take over the job and steady the ship before things take another turn for the worse and Spurs find themselves relegated.
