Levy blasted as Tottenham make Ange Postecoglou sack decision – ‘Disgrace’

Tottenham supporters are not best pleased with the latest decision Daniel Levy has made on Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs suffered their 13th Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday (26 January) as they were beaten 2-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by Leicester City – with fans seemingly turning on Postecoglou during the clash.

Tensions appeared to boil over after full-time as footage emerged of the Spurs boss clashing with a supporter as he made his way down the tunnel. However, it wasn’t just the Australian who was targeted by the Spurs faithful, with chairman Daniel Levy also on the receiving end of plenty of criticism.

And it appears as though the anger toward Postecoglou and Levy hasn’t faded after a night’s sleep based on fans’ reaction to news of a sack decision on Monday (27 January).

Daniel Levy makes Ange Postecoglou sack decision at Tottenham

As reported by Alasdair Gold (27 January), Spurs are planning to stick by Postecoglou despite defeat to Leicester amid the club’s “absurd” injury crisis.

It is understood that the North London side will try to sign at least one player before the window closes.

However, this news has not gone down well among the Spurs faithful, with some fans suggesting that the club will be relegated, while another branded the decision to stick by Postecoglou a “disgrace”.

Postecoglou is indeed without an unprecedented number of first-team players due to injury. However, the players that played on Sunday were more than good enough to beat a Leicester side who had lost seven league matches on the bounce.

Therefore, it is hard to continue making excuses for the 59-year-old, and while his hands are somewhat tied as a result of Levy’s lack of ambition in the transfer market, if results don’t pick up soon, it is difficult to see how Postecoglou remains in the job.

In other Tottenham news, the club are “desperate” to sell one player despite an “extreme” crisis.
