Will Lankshear to demand Tottenham exit as striker mooted to be unhappy
Will Lankshear could demand a Tottenham exit with the striker thought to be unhappy after what happened against Tamworth on Sunday.
Spurs made hard work of their FA Cup third-round tie at the Lamb Ground on 12 January as they were forced into extra-time before eventually winning 3-0, with one player in particular letting Postecoglou down.
As a result of the performance, there were still some calls for the Australian to be sacked, especially considering just how strong the Tottenham team against Tamworth was.
Plenty would have expected wholesale changes to be made, and Spurs debuts to be handed out. However, that wasn’t the case, with Will Lankshear one of the fringe players left on the bench by Postecoglou.
Therefore, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has suggested the striker is likely to be unhappy, and could even demand to leave on loan in January.
“Postecoglou named a very interesting team against Tamworth,” King said.
“It seems strange to me that Mikey Moore, who has been ill, came straight back into the team while Lankshear missed out again. I’m not sure what he has done wrong.
“This would have been a perfect game for him to play in. I don’t think he will be very happy. He’s been on the bench all the time and he never seems to get used. I think he will be asking to head out on loan because it doesn’t look as if he is going to get a game at Spurs this season.”
Will Lankshear to demand January loan move away from Tottenham?
In the end, Spurs needed big-money striker Dominic Solanke to help them seal victory against Tamworth.
Therefore, in hindsight, it is probably better for Lankshear that he didn’t start, as he would have been part of a very poor Spurs side at the Lamb Ground. However, he will no doubt have hoped to come on and show what he can do against much lesser opposition.
If Lankshear isn’t going to start against a team like Tamworth when Richarlison is unavailable, it is hard to see when Postecoglou will play him this season, and a loan move to the Championship has been mooted.

Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise now if the 19-year-old pushes for this move.
