Tottenham ‘writing is on the wall’ for Radu Drăgușin transfer exit
Tottenham defender Radu Drăgușin could be on the move next summer.
Drăgușin hasn’t exactly set the Premier League alight since arriving in England last January, with a recent suggestion having been made that the Romanian “looks uncomfortable” at Tottenham.
As a result, the defender has continually been linked with a move back to Italy, with Tutto Mercato reporting (15 December), that Fiorentina have approached Tottenham to sound out the conditions for a potential transfer.
However, while ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – recognises that an exit looks to be on the cards, he doesn’t expect anything to happen until the summer.
“They can’t cash in on him at the moment,” King said.
“They’ve got their two main defenders out. Therefore, I can’t see him leaving until the end of the season. However, this seems to be an agent who knows that the writing is on the wall. Life does seem to be easier in Italy than it is in the Premier League.
“He has only just joined the football club, whether it was a mistake to sign him, that is still under scrutiny. For me, when you lose those two main centre-backs, he is not your immediate answer. However, they’re going to have to stick with him until the end of the season.”
Radu Drăgușin to quit Tottenham next summer?
Drăgușin has faced a lot of criticism during his time at Tottenham, and looks to have suffered yet another setback after Postecoglou shared an injury update ahead of the Premier League clash with Wolves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (29 December).
Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Drăgușin was considering returning to the Serie A.
And if Spurs could bring in a replacement next summer, perhaps they would also be wise to move the centre-back on.
