Tottenham Women can capitalise on ‘huge opportunity’ after FA announcement – Spurs Expert
Tottenham expert John Wenham has backed Spurs to get a result against Manchester City Women in the FA Women’s Cup.
Robert Vilahamn’s Spurs side will face Manchester City in the quarter-finals on Sunday 10 March (Tottenham Hotspur Official Website, 12 February).
It will be the fourth time the two sides have met this season, with City having already knocked Spurs out of the Continental Tyres League Cup thanks to a 1-0 victory at Brisbane Road on Wednesday 7 February.
Despite losing all three times against the Citizens, and failing to score a goal in any of those three meetings, Wenham has backed Spurs to use that as motivation in their upcoming clash.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “This match against Manchester City is a huge opportunity.
“I’m sure that the players will be fully motivated to go out there and get the job done after three straight defeats without a goal against City.
“Our Under-18s were beaten by City in the FA Youth Cup and the first team in the FA Cup as well, so we’ve got to get a win over them at some point, and hopefully the ladies will be the ones to do it.”
Can Tottenham finally get the better of Manchester City?
City have been a thorn in Tottenham’s side at all levels this season.
Having already knocked the men’s first team out of the FA Cup, Vilahamn and his players will be keen to exact some revenge on the Manchester side.

It has been a tough couple of weeks for the squad but with two massive games coming up, which includes a North London derby on Sunday 3 March against Arsenal Women, the players will be keen to make some more history and build some momentum.
