Bryan King thinks Tottenham should already be working on a deal to allow Sergio Reguilón to exit the club in January.

The ex-Spurs scout believes keeping hold of the 27-year-old could cause problems behind the scenes.

And King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - doesn't think the North London side should stand in his way of doing that.

“Let him leave then, let him leave,” King said.

"It is November, and he is already making waves about wanting to leave the club in January. You don’t need these kind of players in the club who are going to cause a problem.

“Therefore, if he can find a club that will take him, Spurs should start working on a deal now because he doesn’t look to have a future in North London.”

Tottenham to allow Sergio Reguilón to terminate his contract in January?

Keeping hold of Reguilón is nothing but a waste of money from Spurs' point of view.

He isn't going to play for the club again, and it is incredibly unlikely that any club will pay to sign him in January, especially when he is out of contract in the summer.

Therefore, terminating the left-back's contract would probably be the more cost-efficient solution for Spurs, while it would also eliminate an unnecessary headache behind the scenes for Ange Postecoglou, who isn't short of problems at the moment.

As a result, Daniel Levy and the club should be working on Reguilón's termination terms right now.
