Tottenham urged to re-sign Harry Kane this summer as player stance emerges

Tottenham will be feeling optimistic about their chances of bringing Harry Kane back to the club.

Kane left Spurs to join Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.

The England international has a £54million release clause in his contract at the Allianz Arena which will become active in the summer of 2026 [Christian Falk].

Kane has been urged to return to the Premier League and sign for Arsenal. However, it appears as though the 31-year-old has different ideas in mind.

As reported by Ben Jacobs via GiveMeSport (17 February), Kane could return to Tottenham.

Jacobs said, “I think if Kane returns to the Premier League, there is a willingness to go back to Spurs. That’s not been ruled out by the player. We have to wait and see if there’s an appetite for Tottenham to do that deal, especially with Dominic Solanke.”

As a result, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks Spurs should look to bring Kane back and ensure that he retires in North London.

“Go and sign him this summer,” King said.

“The sooner they bring Kane back, the more stability they will have upfront. He is a proven player, and I’ve said all along, he is a Tottenham centre-forward through and through. He is a Gary Lineker, a Jürgen Klinsmann, and a Bobby Smith.

“He looks as though he is made for Tottenham and always was. It would be very exciting if he did come back. If Tottenham have anything about them, should they bring him back, they will ensure that his football career, as long as it lasts, would be with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.”

Bayern Munich striker Kane to return to Tottenham

Plenty of Spurs supporters have likely had dreams of Kane returning to Tottenham. Therefore, the fact that the player is open to the move is bound to cause plenty of excitement.

However, it is now down to Spurs to facilitate a deal. Daniel Levy is under plenty of pressure at the moment, with an increasing number of fans turning their back on the chairman.

As a result, bringing Spurs’ record goalscorer back to the club could hand Levy the perfect opportunity to quieten the noise around him.

However, whether or not Kane would be willing to return to the club this year is an entirely different story altogether.

The striker left Spurs to win trophies and is yet to do so in Germany. Therefore, it is likely that he would only consider a return this summer if Bayern Munich were to lift silverware between now and June.
