Tottenham told to sign ‘unbelievable’ Evan Ferguson as transfer demands emerge
Tottenham have been linked with a move for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson in January.
As reported by The Independent (31 December), Fulham could pursue a loan deal for the 20-year-old, which in turn could lead to Spurs, Everton, Manchester United and Arsenal all making moves.
However, as reported by TEAMtalk (31 December), while the Seagulls are happy to send Ferguson – who is “keen” to play in London – out on loan, Tottenham will only pursue a deal if an option or obligation to purchase the striker is included.
And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is hopeful of a deal being agreed for the Irishman.
“This is a player who would improve us,” Wenham said.
“People are sleeping on Ferguson; I think he just needs a change of club. For whatever reason, it isn’t working at Brighton. However, he is still an unbelievable player.
“It was only 18 months ago that Tottenham were quoted £100million for Ferguson after Harry Kane left the club. Therefore, I hope that we can be the ones to sign him and if there is an option to buy included, and he does well, it would be a no brainer.”
Tottenham urged to sign Brighton striker Evan Ferguson
Spurs are in need of January reinforcements in pretty much every position right now, although some supporters might argue that a striker isn’t a priority.
However, should Will Lankshear leave the club this month [via Football London, 31 December], Ferguson could be the perfect replacement, and would perhaps even be considered an upgrade.

Therefore, while any potential deal still looks to be some way off from completion, this could certainly be an interesting move in North London.
