Tottenham told to sell ‘unreliable’ Giovani Lo Celso amid Fabrizio Romano update

John Wenham has urged Tottenham to sell Giovani Lo Celso this summer.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims the midfielder is a good player, but he is too “unreliable”.

It comes after Fabrizio Romano revealed via X (21 May) that several players are expected to leave Spurs this summer, with Lo Celso “one to watch.”

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is in favour of the 28-year-old being sold.

“Whenever we desperately need Lo Celso, he isn’t available for one reason or another,” Wenham said

“When he does play, he does well, by no means am I suggesting that he isn’t a good player.

“But he is too unreliable, and as a result, he needs to be moved on.”

Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham would lose nothing by selling Giovani Lo Celso

Ange Postecoglou likely wouldn’t even notice if Lo Celso was gone.

The midfielder has quality, there is no doubt about that.

He is regularly picked for Argentina and he has shown it in moments for Tottenham.

Unfortunately, those moments are few and far between.

He is hardly ever available for selection due to injury.

While that might have been manageable this season, with UEFA Europa League football on the agenda next year, games will come thick and fast.

As a result, Postecoglou needs players who are ready to contribute.

And by selling Lo Celso, that money could be used to sign players who will do just that.
