Tottenham told to make Wilfred Ndidi transfer decision as Aston Villa update emerges

John Wenham has advised Tottenham to avoid the signing of Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes that the Nigerian is not the same player he once was.

It comes after a report in HITC (8 April) revealed that Spurs, alongside the likes of Newcastle United and Aston Villa, are monitoring Ndidi’s situation at the recently-promoted Foxes, with the 27-year-old’s contract at the King Power stadium set to expire this summer.

But Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – does not want Spurs to act on their interest.

“Ndidi was good about three or four years ago,” Wenham said.

“Over the past couple of seasons, his stocks have just plummeted.

“I am sure there will be a Premier League club willing to take him on as a free agent.

However, I just think he is someone who Tottenham should avoid, he is not for me.”

At one point Ndidi might have been an exciting signing for Spurs.

However it has been a while since the midfielder has performed at a top level, and if Tottenham want to really kick on under Ange Postecoglou, they need to target players of a much higher calibre.

Although a free signing could be viewed as a smart bit of business by Daniel Levy, based on the recent financial successes of the club, Spurs supporters will be hoping for much more exciting additions to the squad this summer.

In other Tottenham news, Postecoglou must reward one Under-21 sensation after what he did on Saturday.
