Tottenham told to call Fulham about Joao Palhinha, do deal and then sell Spurs star
John Wenham has urged Tottenham to sign Joao Palhinha as a replacement for Yves Bissouma.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose feels that a high-profile midfield signing should be a priority in North London this summer.
Spurs continue to be linked with forward players, particularly in wide areas.
But Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes a new number six should be signed first, and has named Palhinha as his preferred target.
“I think Tottenham need to call up Fulham and find out how much it would cost to bring Palhinha to North London,” Wenham said.
“He is a player who Ange Postecoglou should be building his team around.
“We need an improvement on Yves Bissouma, and I would like to see Spurs get rid of him and bring in Palhinha.
“That should be the club’s first priority this summer.”
Joao Palhinha could take Tottenham to the next level under Ange Postecoglou
Conceding goals has been a big problem as of late for Tottenham.
A big reason for the number of goals they have conceded has been due to a lack of defensive solidity in midfield.
Spurs have often been dominated in the middle of the park, and Palhinha would definitely put a stop to that.

The Portugal international leads the way for tackles in the Premier League this season with 131 (via Premier League), while Bissouma has made just 74.
Palhinha would definitely be an upgrade on the Mali international and could be a signing which takes the club to the next level.
In other Tottenham news, one midfielder has been told to leave the club this summer.
