Tottenham to sign Santiago Gimenez in double swoop before 19 May after transfer development
John Wenham believes Tottenham could complete the signings of Feyenoord duo Santiago Gimenez and Lutsharel Geertruida before their final Premier League match of the season.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose feels that both players could be “huge” additions to Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
It comes after the pair were both in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 28 April for the North London derby between Spurs and Arsenal (via Football London, 29 April).
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes a deal could be close and could even be done before the full-time whistle against Sheffield United on 19 May.
“Gimenez was sat in an executive box, which I thought was particularly interesting,” Wenham said.
“It was also interesting that it was the players themselves posting the photos, rather than fans, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Spurs had both of these signings wrapped up before the season is over, which would be huge.
“Gimenez is an out-and-out striker who has put up really impressive numbers this year, while Geertruida is very versatile and can play several defensive positions.”
Santiago Gimenez would be an exciting addition for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham
Gimenez has been in impressive form this season, scoring 21 times in 29 Eredivisie appearances.
Both he and Geertruida have helped Arne Slot’s side secure a UEFA Champions League position and they could both be on the move this summer.

Postecoglou will be keen to continue building at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with a versatile defender and forward perhaps exactly what he needs.
