Ange Postecoglou will be desperate for Tottenham to make new signings before 3 February.

Postecoglou is without a host of key first-team players in North London, including Cristian Romero, who looks no closer to making a return from injury.

Therefore, Spurs were keen to sign centre-back Fikayo Tomori, and even reached an agreement with AC Milan [via Gianluca Di Marzio, 31 January]. However, the Englishman rejected a move to the club [via Gianluca Di Marzio, 1 February], just as Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel did before him [via Fabrizio Romano, 31 January].

As a result, it would be difficult to blame Tottenham supporters for lacking any optimism at the moment.

However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - still thinks two new players will be signed before 3 February.

“I could see a random name popping up on deadline day,” Wenham said.

“Maybe someone like Evan Ferguson, or who knows, Manchester United might offer a discounted rate on Marcus Rashford.

“Either way, I certainly think fresh names will pop up in the coming days and I think Tottenham will make two new signings before the window closes on Monday.”

Tottenham to sign two new players before 3 February?

Daniel Levy is running out of time to salvage what is left of his reputation in North London.

This has been an incredibly underwhelming winter transfer window, and while this isn't the first time Levy has let down a manager, it certainly feels worse than usual.

Postecoglou just about has enough players to assemble a squad, and is under huge pressure as a result of Spurs' recent form. Therefore, now was the time for Levy to back the Australian.

However, he has failed to act, and Spurs are now scrambling around for last-minute deals.
