Tottenham to seal Conor Gallagher transfer after ‘bizarre’ Chelsea development
John Wenham claims Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea departure could help Tottenham sign Conor Gallagher.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose was surprised by Pochettino’s “bizarre” Chelsea exit.
Gallagher has been linked with a move to North London, with the midfielder’s potential sale thought to be one of the reasons the ex-Spurs boss left Stamford Bridge (via The Independent, 29 May).
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the 24-year-old would improve Spurs.
“This story doesn’t seem to go away, the links are constant,” Wenham said.
“Chelsea’s bizarre decision to part ways with Pochettino makes Gallagher’s departure more likely.
“If we’re ever going to sign him, this month is the time to get it done.
“I do think he improves our midfield options, especially in a summer where I think there will be a lot of changes in that area.”

It is hard to see Gallagher remaining at Chelsea.
He was a big favourite of Pochettino, and the Argentinian’s sudden exit suggests the England international could soon follow.
The Blues needs to sell this month to ease any financial worries.
And if Spurs make the right offer, a deal for Gallagher could be sealed swiftly.
