Tottenham ‘to pay £8m for Marco Silva’ after Postecoglou sack news – Exclusive
Marco Silva may prove to be the one to take on the job at Tottenham if Ange Postecoglou faces the sack.
Postecoglou will be sacked at Tottenham if they fail to win the Europa League, though there is just as high a chance that he loses his job even if they do.
It has been a season full of embarrassment for the North Londoners, who, had it not been for the lack of quality beneath them, could have been scrapping for relegation.
However, if/when Postecoglou leaves the club, Tottenham need to replace him well, and Silva could be the man they choose to take over.

Silva could cost Tottenham £8m this summer
If Tottenham are to change manager this summer, they will have to pay upwards of £8million to land the services of Silva, who is doing a fine job for Fulham.
It is becoming increasingly likely that Postecoglou will face the sack, and for a manager, £8m seems like a lot, but Paul Robinson thinks that it may be something that Spurs need to do if they are to progress on the pitch.
Speaking to Tottenham News, he said: “£8 million. It’s a drop in the ocean now, isn’t it, these days? I mean, it’s a big buyout for a manager.
“But then you look at the finances involved with football. If Tottenham are serious, they’ve got to get it right this time. How many times have we sat here and had this conversation over the years? Tottenham have got to get it right.

“The managerial appointment is crucial. The recruitment is crucial. We said that before they appointed Nuno Espirito Santo. We said that before they appointed Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and Ange Postecoglou. Every single time Tottenham seem to be at this crossroads, where the managerial appointment is crucial, the recruitment is going to be crucial. At some point, they have to get it right.
“And if you’re going to have to pay to get it right, they’re going to have to pay to get it right.”

Postecoglou’s tenure will go down in history…
The history books are there to make note of a club’s biggest achievements, but that is rather unlikely to be the reason behind Postecoglou’s inclusion.
Instead, he will be remembered for leading Tottenham to their worst-ever Premier League finish, and unless he can win the Europa League, it will certainly be his last action in North London.
