‘Tottenham to pay £60m for Liam Delap’ after bombshell transfer news – Exclusive
Liam Delap is believed to be a player of interest to Tottenham this summer, with an update making his exit from Ipswich seem likely.
Tottenham have a huge summer ahead of them when it comes to recruitment, and a failure to get it right could prove to be detrimental in various ways.
Of course, their main focus for now will be on the Europa League, but those behind the scenes will be hard at work when it comes to planning for the window.
Delap has already been linked with a move to Tottenham, but they may have to pay over the odds to land his signature.

Delap will have many suitors this summer
If the signing of Delap could be completed, it would be a remarkable pickup for Tottenham. It could also leave concerns over the future of Dominic Solanke.
It was recently reported by The Guardian that Delap will have a £30million release clause if Ipswich succumb to relegation. However, Paul Robinson thinks it will still take a lot more to secure his signing.
Speaking to Tottenham News, Robinson said: “I think he’d be a great signing. I think he’d be a great signing for anybody. I like him. He’s an old-fashioned centre-forward. I’ve seen him a couple of times this season.
Ipswich | Games | Goals | Assists |
Delap | 30 | 12 | 2 |
“You can see even in a team like Ipswich, who have struggled this year, he gets in positions in the box where you think others would turn, recycle possession or put the ball across the box. He just tries. He has a shot at goal.
“There’s a release clause of £30m if only one club comes. But the way that he is playing this year, there’s going to be a bidding war. And I think that the value of him is probably going to be escalated up to £50m, £60m, £65m. I reckon you’re looking around £60m for him by the time the bidding war is finished.
“There could be a big club comes in and goes, right, we’ll pay it straight away. Or that could be a transfer that rumbles on all summer with two or three clubs coming backwards and forwards with bids. They’re not going to be in a rush to sell.”

Tottenham need to sign a striker this summer
As of right now, no one knows who, but the need for a new striker in North London is evident.
A failure to do that would see the current concerns linger over the new campaign, and with Solanke failing to perform, it leaves a serious question as to where the goals could come from.
