Tottenham ‘to offer player-plus-cash’ for AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara
AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara could replace a first-team player at Tottenham.
Spurs appear to be set for a summer of change in the middle of the park.
Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall have emerged as long-term options in midfield, while Pape Matar Sarr is still only 22 years old. Therefore, those three players will expect to remain in North London.
Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentancur, who is out of contract at the end of next season, could be offered a contract worth £150,000-a-week by Tottenham.
However, if Spurs are to bring in midfielders this summer, someone will need to be moved on, and that could lead to one player being included as part of a swap deal for Camara.

Tottenham to offer Yves Bissouma for Camara
As reported by TBR Football (1 March), Spurs are keen on Monaco’s Camara, who is also being tracked by Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.
Meanwhile, interest is emerging from France in Yves Bissouma [GiveMeSport], with offers of £15million thought to be enough. Therefore, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has suggested that the Mali international could be included in a deal to bring Camara to North London.
“There are worse places to go than Monaco for any player,” King said.
“Therefore, Spurs offering Bissouma plus cash for Camara could be an option. Moving from North London to Monaco would be of interest to Bissouma, I think. As a result, that could be a feasible bit of business.

“Spurs would be replacing Bissouma with a player for the future, and it could be an important move for Camara, a step up in his career.”

Tottenham would be wise to replace Bissouma with Camara
Bissouma has never quite hit the heights he would have liked at Tottenham, and there doesn’t seem much sense in offering the Mali international a new contract.
Therefore, with his contract set to expire at the end of next season, this summer feels like the perfect time to move Bissouma on.
And if Spurs can replace the 28-year-old with Camara, a 21-year-old midfielder displaying potential in France, that would be a beneficial bit of business.
