Tottenham ‘to make huge loss’ amid Son Heung-min transfer news
Tottenham have a big decision to make on the future of Son Heung-min, which is now uncertain.
After nearly a decade in North London, Son finally won a trophy with Tottenham, after the Lilywhites defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the UEFA Europa League final at the Estadio de San Mamés (21 May).
The Europa League euphoria may still be in the air for Son, but his season, far from his personal best, has left question marks around his future.
Now, with Tottenham looking ahead to a summer of change, a decision needs to be made on the captain.

Tottenham ‘to lose commercial revenue’ if they sell Son
Son has been part of the Tottenham furniture for years and has contributed significantly to the Lilywhites’ revenue.

However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the loss of this revenue could be greater than the value of Son’s sale.
“Son’s form over the last 18 months has declined quite rapidly,” Wenham said.
“However, he is still able to deliver in big moments. Therefore, if I were in charge, I’d be keeping Son around for his big-game experience.
“I wouldn’t have him starting every week. I’d certainly look to procure a new starting left winger, with Son acting as a rotational option. Tottenham could, of course, make a significant amount of money by selling Son to a club in Saudi Arabia.
“However, that needs to be balanced out with the huge amount of money Tottenham would lose from merchandise, tickets, and exposure, which Son brings to the club with his following in South Korea.
“I don’t think we as fans truly know what that is worth, and perhaps a £50-60million bid from a club in Saudi Arabia isn’t worth that loss of money. There is lots to consider.”

Tottenham should not replace Son with Jack Grealish
Greslih is a player who has been gaining traction and could become Son’s replacement, given that they play on the same wing.
While it is unfair to expect Grealish to bring in the same merchandising benefits as Son, his performances on the pitch are still a level below the current Spurs skipper.
With no true financial and sporting benefit, Tottenham should look to invest in a younger prospect if Son departs this summer.
