Tottenham to make Alejo Véliz announcement ‘within a couple of days’
Alejo Véliz has struggled since signing for Tottenham from Rosario Central.
Véliz has hardly kicked a ball for Spurs since arriving in North London and has been mooted to be sent out on loan for a third time next season.
Despite a bright start to life at Espanyol, the striker has struggled as of late and was an unused substitute in four of the club’s last seven La Liga matches.
Therefore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – expects the 21-year-old’s time in Spain to be cut short.
“I expect that Véliz will be sent back from his loan,” Wenham said.
“I think that might be announced within a couple of days. At that point, Tottenham will really need to decide what they want to do with him.
“He’s probably better suited heading out on another loan, ideally in English football. This is another loan which hasn’t been a great success after his time with Sevilla last year.”
Tottenham to recall Alejo Véliz from Espanyol?
At this moment in time, it is difficult to see much of a future for Véliz at Tottenham.
Since signing for the club in the summer of 2023, the Argentinian has spent most of his time in Spain, and it seems as though Ange Postecoglou isn’t the forward’s biggest fan.
However, with the Australian under intense pressure in North London, there could yet be an opportunity for Véliz to turn things around.

Should Postecoglou be sacked in the coming months, any new Spurs boss would likely offer every player a clean slate, which could provide Véliz with the opportunity to make an impression and save his Tottenham career.
