Dan Plumley has insisted that Tottenham is an attractive proposition for any billionaire after fresh links emerged from Qatar Sports Investment.
City AM reported on 1 November that QSI were ready to open talks with Tottenham again over a minority stake in the club after previous suggestions were shut down.
The finance expert admitted that the Spurs ownership group has been reluctant to sell any part of the club previously due to the profit potential they have grown.
“It is attractive,” he exclusively told Tottenham News.
“Spurs are one of those clubs if you are a billionaire, then you’ve got a very attractive proposition.
“It is a different proposition to a lot of other clubs in the Premier League, it’s firmly in that big-six mantra in terms of the price it would command and that’s linked to the new stadium and all the other things it has going on.
“The way in which the club has been run very well financially over the years, that kind of minority investment suits both parties and it stands to reason.
“From what we have seen with Spurs in the past, I believe that any club is up for sale at the right price, but there has been a reluctance by the current ownership group to sell Spurs because of the value potential they have created, and because of the value potential increase they have generated through the new stadium and other initiatives linked.
“A minority deal would suit Spurs as well as they get to retain some of that in the current structure, and again, it’s not going to be a cheap acquisition for a part of that club. It may be one that suits all parties, and it may be one for QSI and Qatar to get involved in a big Premier League club.”
