Tottenham striker Alejo Veliz set for ‘Outstanding’ loan move as transfer update emerges

John Wenham believes Tottenham striker Alejo Veliz could be set for an “outstanding” loan move next season after a transfer update emerged from Argentina.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose feels that regular game time is important for Veliz next season after his tricky loan spell in La Liga with Sevilla this year.

It comes after Argentinian journalist Uriel Lugt revealed via X (3 April) that Premier League side Bournemouth are interested in the 20-year-old.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels that the move could prove fruitful, provided Veliz plays regularly.

“It would be the perfect move for him if he is going to play, but if he is just going to sit on the bench then it would be a waste of time” Wenham said.

“After what happened with Sevilla this season, he has got to be playing regularly next year.

“But he has every chance to play at Bournemouth, and if it were to work out, then it would be an outstanding move.”

Bournemouth would be the perfect move for Tottenham forward Alejo Veliz

You couldn’t pick a better place for Veliz to play his football away from Tottenham next season.

Bournemouth have demonstrated throughout the current campaign that they are unlikely to be dragged into a relegation dogfight next year, but they probably won’t be competing too high up the table either.

That means should he join up with the Cherries, Veliz is likely to be handed regular playing time at a Premier League club.

This would offer the Argentinian the opportunity to continue his development in the perfect environment from Spurs’ perspective.
