Tottenham star set for six-week absence in new injury setback

Tottenham attacker James Maddison appears to be on course to recover in time for pre-season, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

He claims that the England international is ruled out with a Grade 2 injury that has put a premature end to his campaign.

This means he’s not going to be available for the Europa League final against Manchester United.

Maddison to take six weeks at most to be back in training

While the team will be taking a few weeks off in the off-season, it’s understood that, given the nature of Maddison’s injury, he will be able to be ready for training in four to six weeks.

Grade 2 knee injuries, particularly, have that sort of a timeline, and that’s why there aren’t expected to be any complications during pre-season.

Discussing the state of play with Maddison exclusively with Tottenham NewsDr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.

“Based on what we do know, that he will miss a month at least, I imagine this appears to be a Grade 2 knee injury,” he said.

“The process for rehab will depend on the injury specifics.

“I see him ready to return to training in the next four to six weeks, so he shouldn’t have any issues in pre-season.”

Tottenham not having Maddison is a huge boost for Manchester United

The 28-year-old has been a pivotal player for Tottenham in the final third, as reflected in the number of goal involvements this season.

Not having him is a huge blow for the North London outfit and a huge boost for United, who have also struggled domestically.

Hopefully, Ange Postecoglou has a plan to cope with the loss of his creative spark, as he’s also going to be without Dejan Kulusevski.

It certainly will be interesting to see if the Australian gets in a like-for-like replacement or if he tweaks his formation altogether.

Fans certainly cannot wait for their biggest game since the Champions League final and they’ll hope that things turn out differently this time around.
