Tottenham set for ‘huge financial rewards’ after Newcastle development
Daniel Levy appears to be on the verge of securing another lucrative payday for Tottenham with the help of Premier League rivals Newcastle United.
It has been a disappointing season in North London, and plenty of supporters have directed their frustration toward Levy.
The Spurs chairman isn’t the most popular man at the best of times. Therefore, considering Spurs’ struggles this season, it is hardly surprising that Levy has received so much criticism.
However, while fans have their complaints, it cannot be denied that the 62-year-old is brilliant when it comes to generating revenue at Tottenham, and it appears as though the Spurs supremo has another trick up his sleeve.

Tottenham and Newcastle United ‘set for huge payday’
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a money-making machine for the North London club, with third-party events such as boxing, concerts, rugby and NFL matches bringing in added revenue when there is no football being played.
However, Levy is now finding ways to make money overseas as well, with a pre-season friendly against Arsenal in Hong Kong lined up for the summer.
As well as the first North London derby to take place outside of the UK, it looks as though Spurs could also face off with Newcastle United as part of their pre-season preparations.
Premier League 2024/25 | Position | Points |
Newcastle United | 7th | 50 |
Tottenham | 14th | 37 |
As reported by the Daily Mail (4 April), Spurs are in discussions over a friendly with Newcastle United in Seoul at the World Cup Stadium, with a capacity crowd of 60,000 expected to attend if the game goes ahead.
And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has speculated just how rewarding this could be financially for both clubs.
“These are two clubs that promoters can get together,” Wenham said.
“I wouldn’t read too much into a partnership between the clubs or anything along those lines. Tottenham have got Son Heung-min and Yang Min-hyeok, who will likely go on that tour.
“Therefore, I’m sure any club would love to play Tottenham in a pre-season friendly in Seoul because of the huge financial rewards for both clubs. A guaranteed sold-out event with plenty of merchandise sales on top of that.”

Levy needs to invest at Tottenham
As Tottenham continue to generate large amounts of revenue, expectations among the fanbase will only continue to rise.
And if Levy wants to boost his popularity, he needs to start spending some serious money in North London.
